SUPPORTING THE EDUCATION OF TRAUMATISED CHILDREN
This course is targeted at developing essential skills for teaching assistants and support staff working with Special Educational Needs, Looked After Children and other areas involving issues of childhood trauma.
This new Level 3 BTEC certificate is a Vocationally Related Qualification delivered and assessed online.

Content and Structure
- The course provides a notional 120 hours of learning, 30 hours per unit
- Students complete three core units and one option unit to achieve the full qualification
- Core Units:
- Promoting healthy development
- Enabling traumatised children to manage their behaviour
- Working together to safeguard traumatised children in school
- Option Units:
Assessment
For each unit, students are assigned a personal tutor who provides guidance and support as well as assessment of written assignments. To demonstrate learning and the ability to apply theory to practice, students complete a written task at the end of each module and a longer assignment at the end of each unit.
